We have recently had this amazing space created in our home town of Bexhill. As soon as we saw it, we thought it would be a wonderful thing to potentially be able to offer to children with cancer or other life threatening/limiting conditions and their families.
Having been though what we have with Jack, we know first hand how it can affect you as an individual and a family. It has a huge impact on your mental health, you feel isolated- perhaps from being on your own stuck in a hospital for weeks/months at a time, or feeling isolated because you don’t know anyone else going through it, the distress it can can cause and the hardship can be so difficult, and sadly for us- loss.
So, with all this in mind, we applied to The Town Hut and we were accepted! This means that we can now book slots for our families to spend a day or an afternoon at the seaside, allowing them to take time as a family to relax and make memories and focus on their mental health
We will cover parking for 1 car for the duration of your visit, and will leave you a small hamper with some fun things for the children, as well as a small tab to be used at The Old Bathing Station situated very close to the beach hut,
To apply please send us an email (click here) explaining a little bit about you child and family and 3 preferred dates. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee dates as the hut is used by other charities and organisations too.
Massive Thankyou to The Town Hut for accepting our application! We know this will make a huge difference for our families
We donate Easter Eggs to:
Kipling Ward- Conquest Hospital (Hastings)
Friston Ward- Eastbourne DGH
Safari Ward- Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Woolwich)
Pinckney Ward- St George's Hospital (Tooting)
At Christmas and Easter, we send vouchers local families on our records (those who have received our Jack's Essential Bags) to give a little helping hand.
We donate up to 20 promotional T-shirts, printed by us, to any new children who are working with the Bradley Lowery Foundation. Any further T-shirts required will be done at a reduced rate.
These children and their families are families just like we were- trying to raise funds for their child's treatment or specialist medical equipment they may need.
